ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 16, 2019.

I fell for Cameron Connolly at the wrong time. And when he left, I thought my life was over. But then, after the worst happened, I truly understood what that phrase meant. Now, he’s not ready for a second chance, and I’m not offering one. Though given that our families have been forced together after losing one of our own, I know there’s no turning back. Not this time. Not again. Not when it comes to Cameron.

~~

I never wanted to hurt Violet Knight, but there were reasons I had to leave all those years ago—not that she’d believe me if I told her what they were. I not only left her, I also left my foster brothers. Honestly, I didn’t want to come back to Denver to help run my father’s failing brewery. But when it comes to my brothers, I know I’ll find a way to make it work. Perhaps I’ll even earn Violet’s forgiveness and face the connection we both thought long forgotten in the process. Because I wanted her then, but now I know I need her. I just hope she needs me.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: Breaking Without You begins with Violet Knight attending the funeral of one of her best friends. The death was unexpected and suicide is the last thing that Violet ever thought she’d have to deal with. She, along with her sister Sienna and other best friend, Harmony, are having a very difficult time dealing with Allison’s death. While attending the funeral, Violet sees the Connolly brothers, with whom they had all been friends. But, seeing Cameron Connolly only adds to the stress of the day. They had been a couple, until one day, he just left. No warning and no explanation made it even harder. Violet had moved on, or had she?

After the funeral, everyone went back to Allison’s parents’ house. The whispers about what happened proved to be too much for Violet as she tried to leave, only to run directly into Cameron Connolly. Knowing that Violet wouldn’t want people seeing her break down, Cameron moves her out of the room and holds her while she cries. Once Violet realizes what she has done, she thanks him but leaves quickly.

Cameron wasn’t prepared for the feelings that came rushing back when he first saw Violet again. He knows he hurt her, but he also hurt his brothers when he left. He recently moved back to town after the death of his adoptive parents in order to help his brothers run, and try to save, the family bar/brewery. Add to that the fact that he brought along their little brother that no one knew existed for a few years makes the stress from everything almost overwhelming. As he and Violet navigate a new relationship and he and his brothers try to mend their relationship they realize that life does indeed move on……..

Breaking Without You deals with some heavy storylines, namely dealing with the suicide of a loved one. Violet is nicely written. She’s loyal and supportive and human. Cameron is a great character as well. The backstory as to why he left without a word will break your heart. He left his brothers thinking he picked their birth mom (who sounds like a piece of work) over them. He left Violet thinking that he didn’t lover her enough. However, once everything is laid out on the table, everyone makes it their mission in life to make up for past (perceived or real) mistakes. Breaking Without You is ultimately a story of hard choices and coming to terms with decisions made. It’s also a story that navigates the fact that it’s okay to live your life once a loved one has died. The secondary characters are well written too, and I can’t wait to read their stories. I have to be honest, though. When I first started the book, it was a bit dark and depressing, but the story plays out and left me glad that I didn’t give up on it. Well done, Carrie Ann Ryan! Very well done!

One Night For Seduction (Wicked Dukes Club #1) by Erica Ridley-Review & Excerpt Tour

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 16, 2019

When the Wicked Duke dares the Duke of Colehaven to find a suitor for an unmanageable ward, Cole immediately accepts. He’s on a winning streak, and besides, how unmarriageable can a pretty young lady be? He appoints himself bodyguard and duenna, only to discover his own desires may be the greatest danger of all.

Supposed wallflower Diana Middleton lives a double life, bringing dishonest businessmen to justice. Shaking off a meddling duke should be child’s play. Yet the more they lock horns, the more she wants to lock lips. Her scandalous secrets would derail his political career. But surely there’s no harm in one little seduction…

•••••••••••

REVIEW: One Night for Seduction begins with the Duke of Colehaven, Cole, and his friends having drinks in their local drinking establishment, the Wicked Duke. One of Cole’s friends was belaboring the fact that his ward, Diana Middleton, was ‘unmarrigeable’. Never one to back down from a challenge, or wager, Cole takes it upon himself to find a suitable suitor for Diana. After all, he’s on a ten year winning streak.

Cole makes a visit to Diana’s home, where things do not go well. She assures him that she will never marry and basically throws him out. Unknown to Cole, Diana has a bit of a secret life that she is not willing to give up.

Diana has taken it upon herself to champion local businesses due to London’s complicated weights and measures laws. Whether it is naïve shop owners or unscrupulous vendors, she has made it her mission to set things right to ensure vendors are not taken advantage of. However, when she finds out that Cole is actually one of the ones making the laws for her cause, she can’t help but wonder….

As Cole continues to pursue Diana in his quest to find a suitor for her, he finds himself enamored with her. And, soon, she finds herself enamored with him. When Cole withdraws from the wager to pursue Diana himself, he is stunned by her refusal. Even though the two of them are in love with each other, Diana is steadfast in being who she is and never giving that up for anyone. If only Cole could accept the real her……….

One Night for Seduction is a nicely written story with great leads. Diana is way ahead of her time, in that the women of the ton are not supposed to be independent in what they want to do with their lives. I did find her ‘cause’ a little perplexing though, if I’m being honest. But, each to his (or her) own. Cole is a wonderful character. He was never supposed to be Duke, but through a series of events, he finds himself in a world where he’s had to work hard to be accepted by his peers. He knows certain things are expected of him, but stays true to himself to get what he truly wants: Diana Middleton. The secondary characters are charming and nicely written, which leaves you wanting more. If you’re a fan of Historicals, this one is worth the time. I look forward to the next installment. Well done, Erica Ridley!

Movement caught the corner of the Duke of Colehaven’s eye and he turned to see a maid slip into the receiving salon. Possibly sent to offer him some sort of refreshment as he waited but, given how the mission was unfolding thus far, more likely the girl was simply going about her normal routine. Shaw would return at any moment to inform Cole his mistress had no wish to make his acquaintance.
He gave a subtle nod to acknowledge the maid’s presence and moved out of her way to sit upon the edge of a sofa.
The maid tilted her head as if considering him, but the brim of her mobcap flopped too low for Cole to discern the direction of her gaze. Of course a servant wouldn’t be so ill-trained as to stare rudely at her masters’ guests. Likely she was deciding between carrying on with her duties or returning later once the unexpected guest had gone.
“You’re one of Diana’s friends?” came the soft query.
Cole wasn’t certain what startled him more: confirmation that Diana Middleton did indeed have friends, or surprise that a maid would dare to address him directly.
Perhaps that was why his mouth answered automatically, “I’m here to see Miss Middleton, yes.”
Even that small evasion caused a ripple of discomfort beneath his skin. It was none of the maid’s business what the Duke of Colehaven was or was not up to, but Cole prided himself on being scrupulously honest in all his dealings, regardless of situation or class. Yet he could not bring himself to say No, I am not her friend aloud. Honesty was paramount, but so was honor, and he was not here to besmirch Miss Middleton’s.
“Is she expecting you?” the maid asked.
“She is not,” he replied tightly, and made a show of arranging his long limbs in the opposite direction as though he had become struck with sudden fascination at the wallpaper on the other side of the parlor.
There. That should put paid to further inquiries.
“Then why are you here?” the maid insisted. “Have you come to press a suit?”
“Nothing like that,” Cole blurted out more forcefully than he intended. He gave up on the far wallpaper and turned to glare at the impertinent maid in the doorway.
She was no longer in the doorway. The maid now stood an arm’s width from the other side of the sofa. Her enormous mobcap still flopped too low for her eyes to be visible, but her slender fingers worried at each other against the starched panel of her apron.
The chit ought to be worried. If one of the Middletons caught her interrogating a guest… Or if the head housekeeper should spy her underling shirking her duty…
“Haven’t you anything to do?” Cole said at last. He was not rude by nature, but then again, he normally did not find himself in conversation with other peoples’ chambermaids. Reminding her of her duty was doing her a favor, he told himself. If she lost her post due to such antics, Cole would not be to blame.
“I have more to do than time to do it,” the maid said.
Cole did not doubt this. He gestured toward the opposite side of the parlor. “Don’t let me stop you from what you came to do.”
To his surprise, her lithe hands retrieved a small journal from the pocket of her apron, jotted a quick note with the nub of a pencil, and tucked both objects back inside as though they’d never existed.
“Where’s your chaperone?”
“I don’t require a chaperone. It’s Miss Middleton who—” He broke off as a sudden thought occurred to him, unlikely as it might seem. “Are you the young lady’s chaperone? Have you come to assess my character?”
“Did you hope for a stolen moment alone with her?” the maid countered.
“Heaven forbid.” He could not repress a shiver of horror. “I would never be caught alone with a marriageable young lady.”
“You’ve no wish to marry?”
“None,” he replied firmly. And definitely no wish to be compromised against his will.
“Then what makes you think Miss Middleton has any intention to marry?”
“Of course she intends to marry,” Cole said in exasperation. “All proper young ladies hope to find a worthy husband and become an equally worthy wife. What else is she going to do?”
“Mathematics,” the maid replied without hesitation.
He blinked at this non sequitur. “What sort of woman prefers mathematics to marriage?”
“A wise one,” the maid snapped. She ripped off her mobcap and glared at him, revealing a beautiful pair of angry blue eyes. “I’d rather devote the rest of my life to applied sums and long division than spend a single second in the presence of yet another man who thinks he knows what a woman wants without bothering to perform the most perfunctory of information gathering interviews to determine—”
“Miss Middleton?” stammered from his mouth, but Cole need not await verbal confirmation to recognize the truth. “Why are you dressed like a maid?”
“Why are you alone with me in this parlor?” she countered, hands on her hips.
At this unfortunate moment, Cole noticed that when the “maid” entered the salon, she’d shut the door behind her. His stomach bottomed in abject fear. If she hadn’t known he was coming, why on earth was she wearing a disguise? Had she known he was coming?
“Please tell me this was not an elaborate trick to compromise me into marriage,” he managed, every muscle tensing in anticipation of the worst.
“No,” Miss Middleton said, blue eyes flashing, “it is leverage which I intend to use to force you to leave me alone.”
“You mean to extort a duke?” He paused as full realization set in. “Into not marrying you?”
“Is it working?” she demanded.
He rose to his feet with alacrity. “I harbor no wish to marry you. None. At all.”
“Splendid,” she said. “Now hear this. I don’t need you or any man. Understood? If you’ve any sense of self-preservation, you’ll find your way out of this town house before someone catches us alone together and both our lives are ruined.”
God help them both.
He dashed to the door and flung it open wide, to prove no nefarious seduction was underway in the guest parlor. But Miss Middleton was right. Lack of misdeed would not be enough. He needed to make haste before the distinct lack of chaperonage in the parlor forced them into an unwanted marriage.
Sensing any act of politeness would only serve to irritate her further, Cole tipped his hat as he swept past her. “Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Middleton. Have a lovely day.”
“I’m already delighted never to have to see you again,” she called after him, her plump lips pursed in victory.
He smiled to himself as he slipped on his gloves.
That was where the fiery Miss Middleton went wrong. They would definitely be seeing each other again. After all, he had a ten-year winning streak to protect.
And the Duke of Colehaven never backed down from a dare.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 2, 2019.

Former NHL star Jaxson Lund has returned to the Twin Cities, but he’s at loose ends, unsure if he belongs at Lund Industries, or where he stands with Lucy, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Mimi. Despite the signs she’d like to leave him in the penalty box, the attraction burning between them reinforces his determination to prove that he deserves a second chance…

Lucy Quade is in a good place with a steady job, a nice apartment, and a well-adjusted daughter, which is why she’s hesitant when Jax insists on co-parenting. It’s not that Lucy doesn’t trust Jax…she’s just unconvinced he can handle multiple responsibilities when he’s been singularly focused on playing hockey. But when issues arise with Mimi, Lucy’s shocked at how levelheaded and paternal he acts, giving her a glimpse of the Jax she used to know, the sexy, sweet man she fell for years ago.

Once Lucy lets her guard down, Jax goes all in to show her how good they are together, but will their past remain too large an obstacle to ever overcome?

••••••••••

REVIEW: I Want You Back begins with Jaxson Lund, former NHL star and Lund heir, back in his hometown and at work in the family offices of Lund Industries. His ex-girlfriend (and mother of his daughter, Mimi), Lucy, works there as well, and even though they’ve reached a truce of sorts, he finds himself floundering not only at LI, but with his feelings for Lucy.

Lucy has worked very hard at Lund Industries and provided a good life for her daughter. All of the Lunds have stepped in at different times to, more or less, make up for the a$$hat of a father the little girl has. So Lucy has no idea why he’s being so nice to her. Yes, they get along, but she senses something else is going on with Jaxson. He is being a great daddy too and is being responsible in his co-parenting duties. Gone is the man who blew through town every now and again…………..

As Lucy and Jax navigate this new world of co-parenting, they both start to let their guard down and talk to each other. As old feelings emerge and truths are revealed, they each find themselves in almost new territory when issues arise with Mimi and are able to actually agree on what’s best for her. All of this leaves Lucy truly pondering if they can truly be the family she always wanted them to be.

I Want You Back is a great story of second chance love. Now, don’t get me wrong……..there’s a lot of water under the bridge as far as Jaxson goes, but the way it’s written leaves you really feeling for the guy. Lucy is a great character. Her relationship with the Lunds (even though she and Jax had been estranged for a long time) was written superbly and totally real-life believable. The chemistry between the two of them leaps off of the page and pulls you in. I also loved getting to see how they met and how their relationship was in the beginning via their flashbacks. We are also treated to the other Lunds, whom we’ve met in previous books. (The I Need You series) If you’re a fan of second chance romance and well written characters, you’ll not go wrong with any of James’s books, especially this one. I love the world she’s built with the Lunds. I can’t wait for the next. Well done, Lorelei James!! Very, very well done!!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 5, 2019

A washed-up model at the age of 27, Oliver Connely has gone from being a household name to barely making the rent. It’s time to think fast—and cash in big—with a can’t-miss idea inspired by the passion he sees in a handful of romance novel fans. Book Boyfriend Incorporated is born.

Can’t. Miss.

Right?

Except for the unexpected glitches Oliver’s business plan doesn’t cover—like falling for one of his “lonely lady” clients, Bailey Hardin, a politician’s wife who’s as smart and loyal as she is beautiful and sexy. Their chemistry, instant and scorching, is already a problem—but when Bailey’s husband turns up dead, the pair quickly learns they’re facing more than a simple PR nightmare.

The mess intensifies when Oliver’s best friend decides to put a bid in for the freshly vacated city manager position, ensuring Oliver is now caught between his longtime best friend and his new ladylove. The clock is ticking, and the political scandal is growing. Tough decisions must be made—especially because, for the first time in Oliver’s life, matters of his heart are on the line.

***Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

••••••••••

REVIEW:Misadventures with a Book Boyfriend begins with Oliver Connely worrying about his future. He had the world by the tail as a male model. Household name? Check. Good looks? Check. And, unfortunately over the hill at 27? Check. His agent hasn’t called and Oliver is getting desperate. He is getting behind on his rent and doesn’t want to rely on his best friend and roommate, Skye. While he is poolside at his complex, he overhears some older women talking about a book that they had been reading and he has an idea. Why not start a company a company that feeds off of women’s passion for the romance novels they read?

After talking with one of the women in particular, he comes up with the name for his company: Book Boyfriend, Inc. and she becomes his ‘go to’ when he has questions. He places an ad and it doesn’t take long for someone to book a date with her favorite romance novel character. The first thing Oliver has to do is to get serious and actually read the books so that he can arrive in character.

His first date is a success, and more follow. What he didn’t count on was the feelings he developed for his very first client. As Oliver glides through his dates, he encounters his first client and learns that she has been thinking about him too. What follows not only changes their lives, but the lives of a lot of people around them.

Misadventures with a Book Boyfriend started off with a very intriguing premise, but, at least for me, veered into something quite different. Oliver basically becomes a male escort. Baily, his first date, is married (not a spoiler here, it’s in the blurb) and her husband ends up dead. Oliver’s best friend, Skye, gets caught up in the political mess that is Baily’s husband’s death as well. Oliver and Baily work together to try and figure out the political mess and fall for each other even more. Of course, everything works out in the end, but the story felt a little forced for me. I don’t feel that there was really enough character development, but the characters were likeable overall, maybe just not believable. As I said before, it has intriguing premise, but it fell a little short for me.

The Sweetest Match by Abby Tyler-Review & Giveaway Tour

ebook only 99¢ Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Chapters Indigo / Google Play / Apple /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 7, 2019

She hid secret messages in frosting, thinking no one would notice.

Abby Tyler welcomes you to the witty, well-meaning busybodies of Applebottom, Missouri, where the community takes its pies — and its matchmaking — very seriously.

When Sandy Miller emerges from her shack on the edge of town after eighteen years, she finds a job making tea cakes for a little shop on Town Square.

But then everyone starts spotting secret words of love and longing on her cakes.

Andrew McCallister is the first to admit that he never got over Sandy Miller when she dropped out of high school and disappeared. But now she’s back.

He just has to get the guts to talk to her.

When the town summons the pair to a meeting to plan the school’s centennial bash, Andrew and Sandy discover they are the only two members of the committee. As they attempt to rekindle the long-lost flame, they realize the community must come together for more than an anniversary party. For their new relationship to flourish, the old guard must learn to support their most vulnerable members even when times get hard.

•••••••••

REVIEW:

The Sweetest Match begins with a town meeting that served up some sweets from the local bakery and decorated by Sandy Miller. The shop owner discovers that there are words ‘hidden’ in the cake decorations that lead everyone to believe that maybe Sandy has a secret crush on someone in town. The women in attendance, pillars of the community, and busy-bodies, make it their mission to find out whom Sandy is secretly pining over…………

Sandy is working in the shop when in walks none other than Andrew McCallister, and the object of her secret crush. The two had been sweet on each other, when another caught her eye and changed the course of her life forever. As Andrew talks to Sandy’s boss, it becomes evident very quickly that something is up when she leaves Andrew and Sandy alone in the shop so that they can catch up. Both are kind of at a loss for words at first, but exchange pleasantries. When Andrew leaves the shop, Sandy finds she is still enamored with him all these years later.

Andrew can’t believe that Sandy is back and working in the bakery. It doesn’t take him long to realize that he is still interested in her, but doesn’t quite know how to go about seeing her again. The town is about to have a huge anniversary celebration and he and Sandy are both invited to be on the committee to plan the activities. Funny that when they show up for the meeting, it’s only the two of them. They laugh and decide that they’ll give the town something to talk about as they head to a local diner to discuss plans for the celebration. What neither counted on was how easy it was to talk to the other and how old feelings have a way of bubbling up.

The Sweetest Match is a wonderfully written story of love, loss and redemption. Sandy Miller is an amazing character. Her devotion to her family, namely her son, will endear her to everyone. But it’s her steadfast belief in right and wrong that will pull you in. Andrew McCallister is a nicely written character as well. He had dreams of leaving his little hometown, but his loyalty to his family kept him there. He never really questioned it and was glad he stayed when he got his second chance with Sandy. The secondary characters are a hoot and totally believable and I hope to read more about them. If you grew up in a small town, like I did, you will certainly be empathetic to the goings on. The Sweetest Match is a real life story with a sweetly developed romance that draws you in. This is the first I’ve read by this author, but certainly won’t be the last. Well done, Abby Tyler! Very well done.

Armed N’ Ready (Federal K-9 #2) by Tee O’Fallon-Review, Excerpt & Giveaway Tour

Armed N’ Ready (Federal K-9 #2) by Tee O’Fallon -Review, Excerpt & Giveaway Tour

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / iBooks / Chapters Indigo / Google Play

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 19, 2019

Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Nick Houston is as tough as they come, and he and his K-9, Saxon, are hot on the trail of a major illegal gun dealer. But his best lead—the beautiful owner of the Dog Park Café, Andi Hardt––is not cooperating. Doesn’t matter how sexy she is, or that his dog seems to be in love with her. She’s a suspect and he won’t cross that line. Ever.

Andi Hardt sank everything into her dream business—the Dog Park Café, a restaurant catering to dogs as much as people. Now everything is in jeopardy because of one extremely frustrating, incredibly hot state trooper. Like it or not, she’s in Nick’s crosshairs, and he’s calling the shots. Her only option: cooperate, or lose everything she’s worked so hard for.

Nick and Andi are catapulted straight into the danger zone, forcing them to make life-altering choices, and face their desires. Risking his life for Andi is the easy part. Risking his heart is the toughest assignment Nick will face.

•••••••••

REVIEW: Armed ‘N’ Ready begins with Andi Hardt giving her dog, Stray, a bath, or shower, as it were. One minute everything is fine and then the next minute, someone barges into the bathroom who is large and very intimidating. So is the huge black shepherd with him. Andi is convinced she is about to be attacked, until she notices the guy has on a police uniform, as does his dog, Saxon. How can housesitting for one of her best friends go so very wrong?

Sgt. Nick Houston is a little stunned to find Andi in the house where they are serving a warrant. He knew who she was immediately, due to surveillance. What he wasn’t prepared for was finding her bathing her dog in a tiny bikini and her being so feisty. Once he assures her that she will be fine, the female officer enters the room so that Nick can leave and Andi can get dressed.

Once downstairs, the officers tell Andi the reason for the search warrant: her friend, Joe, is laundering money for some illegal run dealers. Once Andi realizes the seriousness of the situation, she reluctantly agrees to help in any way with the investigation, as does Nick.
As they set their plan into motion, both Andi and Nick find themselves wondering ‘what if’ concerning the other one. Both have been hurt deeply in the past, which leaves them both in denial. However, when Andi’s life is threatened, Nick kicks things into overdrive to try and bring Joe in and protect Andi. Secrets are revealed and a misunderstanding threatens to derail everything, but when Andi’s life is threatened once again, Nick knows he has to save her, at all costs.

Armed ‘N’ Ready is a great pulse-pounding addition to the Federal K-9 series. Both main characters are very well written and I love the world that O’Fallon has built. Andi’s backstory endears hear to the reader, but it’s Nick’s story that will draw you in. Both have loved and lost, but in horribly different ways. I love the two of them together. Their chemistry is off the charts. The secondary characters are well written and add to all of that the fact that the dogs are great characters as well, and you’ve got a story that keeps you turning the pages. Even though this is the second in a series, this one, as well as the first, can be read as standalones. But, I don’t know why you would want to. 😉 I can’t wait for the next. Well done, Tee O’Fallon! Very, very well done!

She finished setting a table at the far end of the deck, then paused to look into the dog run. Her profile was to him, and he could see a smile forming on her lips, but it was short-lived. Slowly, she turned, searching the tables she hadn’t gotten to yet, and he understood what she was looking for. Him. Dogs like Saxon were distinctive in size and color. There was only one of him within at least a several-hundred-mile radius, and wherever Saxon was, Nick was.
When she finally found him, her eyes narrowed to slits and her lips compressed into a thin line. With the tray still in her hand, she took a deep breath and headed straight to his table with long, determined strides.
So much for their little truce yesterday afternoon. She had to know something was up.
“Good morning,” he said when she came to stand beside his outstretched legs. From the irritated gleam in her eyes, he thought she might dump the tray over his head.
She set down the tray and crossed her arms. “What are you doing here?”
A light breeze brought with it her scent, all flowery and pretty. No matter how much hewished otherwise, he couldn’t deny it. Something about her torqued every one of his senses.
“Can’t a guy get some relaxation while he’s watching his dog play?” He locked his hands behind his head and looked up at her.
“I have no doubt this is not a social call. For you or your partner.” She jerked her head to the dog run.
“And you accused me of being overly suspicious?” He clucked his tongue. He was beginning to enjoy this. “Now who’s being suspicious?”
Her lips compressed into an even thinner line. “I’m not stupid, Sgt. Houston.” She yanked out the chair next to his, then sat and leaned into his personal space. With her blue eyes and sun-kissed complexion, she was just as lovely as he remembered. “I know you want something. You said you don’t deal in bullshit, so how about doing me the courtesy of getting to the real reason you’re here.”
“Fine.” He unlocked his hands from behind his head and leaned in until their faces were only inches apart. Bad idea. This close and his senses were more than going into overdrive—they were sparking with ignition.
Her sweet scent was in his nose and lungs. Her warm breath fanned his face like a gentle caress.
The job, he reminded himself.
He hadn’t acted since college, but he could do it, and he wouldn’t fail.
Showtime. Act I, Scene I, starring Nick Houston.
“Until Joe Myer shows up, I’m your new bartender.”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 19, 2019

***MISADVENTURES ARE STANDALONE ROMANCES THAT CAN BE READ IN ANY ORDER***

For the first time in her life, Ireland Mills is happy with her body. No more fad diets, no more hiding from every camera in the room, no more low self-esteem. She’d rather be alone than with someone who’ll only love her if she’s skinny.

Caleb Carpenter and Ben Weber are everything Ireland and the Kansas Chamber of Commerce dreamed of when conceptualizing the “Real Kansas” promotional campaign. They’re handsome, young, educated, and totally dedicated to their small prairie town.

When Ireland’s Prius gets stuck on a Kansas dirt road and a massive storm rips through town, she’s left stranded with nowhere to turn but to Caleb and Ben. These two hunky country boys are impossible to ignore, but could they ever be interested in her as well?

Caleb and Ben are more than interested…and they’re willing to share. After their first night together, they know this has to be more than a one-time thing. They need to make her theirs forever. But can they convince Ireland they love her, curves and all?

•••••••

REVIEW:Misadventures of a Curvy Girl begins with Ireland Mills headed out into the countryside to take some pictures of the landscape for a client’s promotion campaign. She immediately finds herself stuck in the mud, in her Prius, with a storm bearing down. She has no cell service, so she starts walking. She doesn’t get far when a truck pulls up beside her and out steps, quite possibly, the hottest guy she’s ever seen. He introduces himself, and wouldn’t you know, he just happens to be the person she was going to visit and take pictures on his property: Caleb Carpenter.

Ireland and Caleb head back to his farm, after checking on an elderly neighbor. Once the two of them are there, sparks start to fly. Ireland is confused as to what’s really going on. With the storm coming in, she heads into the house, while he takes care of the out buildings. She grows impatient and heads back outside to check, well spy, on Caleb. While doing so, Caleb’s roommate, Ben Weber walks in and what Ireland witnesses has all kinds of things going through her mind. Add to that the fact that Ben knew she was there the whole time and calls her out of the shadows only adds to her frustration and confusion.

As the three of them head in ahead of the storm, little did Ireland know how much her life was about to change. Having been judged her entire life for being overweight and never being ‘good enough’, she will have to make a decision: believe what she’s been told her entire life, or believe in the two men offering her a life she could have never imagined………

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl is a well written and fast paced story. Ireland is a real-world girl and so relatable that you’re pulled in immediately. Although she’s plagued by a sort of inner turmoil, I loved the way she is able to work her way through all of the self-doubt…..most of the time. Caleb and Ben’s stories will draw you in as well: life-long best friends who have been there for each other, through good times and bad. Ben’s story, in particular, is heartbreaking and is a work in progress. The chemistry between the three of them leaps off of the pages. (Yes, this is a ménage a trois.) Misadventures of a Curvy Girl is ultimately a story of discovering your self-worth and being strong enough to take the next step to achieve the life you want…and deserve. This is the first I’ve read by Sierra Simone but won’t be the last. Well done, Sierra Simone! Very well done!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 4,2018

***MISADVENTURES ARE STANDALONE ROMANCES THAT CAN BE READ IN ANY ORDER***

Brooke Devereaux has a lot she wants to escape from: a career she never asked for, a future she doesn’t want, and parents who’ve only ever seen her as a business opportunity. But in her desire to experience life, she quickly realizes she’s lacking in one very important skill—how to survive on her own.
Former soldier Cole Timmons is an expert at running away. Whether it’s from his rural hometown, alcoholic father, or painful memories, Cole doesn’t hesitate to leave… Until he encounters an out-of-place woman at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. The wealthy “princess” couldn’t be more different from the country loner, and the pair get off to a rocky and misadventurous start.

But sometimes exteriors are armors meant to deceive. Sometimes what’s beneath reveals more than anyone ever realized. Sometimes, in order to stop running away, a person simply needs to find something to run toward.

•••••••••

REVIEW: Misadventures with a Country Boy begins with Cole Timmons on a cross-country trip to Oregon to see his best friend, Jimmy. He’s trying to put as much distance between himself and his hometown in Georgia. He thought after he got out of the Army that things would be different, but they weren’t. He makes a stop at a gas station along the way and encounters a young woman seemingly in need of help, or, at least a ride.

Brooke Devereaux is in a hurry to get to…….well, she doesn’t quite know where. All she knows is that she wants to get as far away from Pennsylvania as she can. When she encounters a stranger at a gas station in Kansas who offers to help, she is immediately wary, but he doesn’t seem to recognizer her, which is a plus. Add to that he’s headed west, and the fact that she needs a ride, and she reluctantly accepts his offer. What begins as a guarded friendship eventually turns into a tentative friendship. Cole seems to be a good guy, but Brooke knows that can just be for show. He also seems to have some secrets himself, and that suits Brooke just fine. However, when secrets are revealed and withheld facts come to light, will the two of them do what they do best and run? Or with they have the courage to stand up to the road blocks in their lives?

Misadventures with a Country Boy is the second book I’ve read in the Misadventures series. It is nicely written and the characters are engaging. Yes, there was instant attraction, but the story was about more than that. Brooke was a bit naïve, but through no fault of her own. Her parents’ hold on her will leave you seething and will explain why she ran. Cole’s backstory? Absolutely heartbreaking. But, his meeting when his best friend, Jimmy, will leave you in a puddle of tears. Once he realizes that he’s been running from pretty much everything and everyone his whole life, he knows just what he has to do…….thanks to Jimmy. This is the first I’ve read by Elizabeth Hayley, but has made me interested in seeing what else she has. If you’re a contemporary romance fan, you’ll enjoy this one. Well done, Elizabeth Hayley!

Elizabeth Hayley is actually “Elizabeth” and “Hayley,” two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. They learned a ton about each other through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly. They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.
