ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 3, 2024
“You need to take it easy and reduce your stress.”
Not the words any small business owner wants to hear—especially when said business is already struggling.
Felicity “Flick” Patel is determined to make her yarn dyeing endeavor a success, even if she has to fight her biggest enemy to do so…
Herself.
She doesn’t need anything else to get in the way of achieving her dream. Not the competition, not the economy, and especially not some little kitten she found and has no idea what to do with.
Working with animals has always been a passion for veterinarian Sebastian Blum.
When feisty Flick comes into his practice with a kitten in tow, he sees not one, but two wounded animals that he wants to help. The kitten, he’s sure, is going to be much easier. Because Flick is a walking mystery—inviting him in and pushing him away at the same time.
He wants her to trust him with her secrets…can he show her the truth won’t scare him away?

REVIEW: WE CAN STAY is the second instalment in Lenna Phoenix’ s contemporary, adult SILENT JOURNEY erotic, romance series focusing on a group of women with chronic health problems. This is yarn dyer Felicity ‘Flick’ Patel, and veterinarian Dr. Sebastian Blum’s story line. WE CAN STAY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Flick and Sebastian) WE CAN STAY follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. A walk in the rain, a lost kitten and a visit to the local vet finds Felicity ‘Flick’ Patel face to face with her future in the guise of Dr. Sebastian Blum, the local veterinarian but Flick struggles with a chronic illness, and she battles between head and heart with the amount of information she reveals to the people in her life. As a member of the Chronic Pain Crafters Club, Flick feels a kinship with the women in the group but she often needs and wants her privacy without having anyone else interfere.
The world building follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple, as well as Sebastian’s need to do it all. Both Flick and Sebastian are overextended and exhausted, resulting in shortened tempers, and a loss of faith in their growing relationship. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters include several veterinarian clients of Pine Island, as well as CPCC members Hannah, Maya and Alexis; and Sebastian’s brother Ben who struggles with his brother’s constant need to work.
WE CAN STAY is a story of chronic illness, secrets and lies, family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is captivating-once again, most of the conflict is personal; the romance is seductive and passionate ; the characters are determined but Flick’s attitude was a bit off-putting. Also, I am not a fan of the nickname ‘Flick’ -just feels out of place.
