Never Date Your Male Friends. Why hadn’t I listened to my own advice?
They say dreams don’t come true.
In my case they did.
After I finished my FBI training in Quantico, I landed back in my hometown of Atlanta, working undercover.
It was what I’d dreamed of since I was a kid.
I’d found my one and only true love – a.k.a. work — and was perfectly content.
Until an old friend, my best friend from fifteen years ago, came barging back into my life.
Except now, Landry Baines wasn’t a scrawny teenager.
He was a much taller, more muscular version of his old self.
Cue, the drool.
And the sleeping ovaries snapping to attention.
That’s how I ended up breaking my no-sleeping-with-men-on-the-first-date rule.
What was I thinking?
Clearly, it had been sex.
Now, I was so screwed.
Landry wanted in… and more.
He wanted control and I wasn’t giving that up for anyone.
That’s how this Tall, Dark, and Dirty man ended up becoming my enemy.

REVIEW:Tall, Dark and Dirty is the third installment in the Baines Family series. This can be read as a standalone, but as always, I recommend reading the series in order. If you like friends to lovers, over the top alphaholes and a good giggle, this is the series for you.
From a young age Landry’s life was rough, with a workaholic dad and a drunk for a mom, his childhood was anything but ice cream and baseball games. His one reprieve is the little girl next store to him, Shiloh. Friends from the first moment, they spend all their time together, until Shiloh moves away.
Fast forward some years later and Landry is out with a friend and who does he see? Sure enough, his childhood friend; Shiloh. When he confronts her, thinking they can catch up, he is told that she isn’t who he thought she was. She gets aggressive and pushes him away, but Landry is convinced that this woman is his Shiloh. But why is she acting like this?
Shiloh is living her dream working for the FBI, it is what she has always wanted to do and she has worked her booty off to get where she is. During an undercover assignment, Shiloh gets a surprise from her childhood friend; Landry. She can’t come out and tell him what is going on. She’s undercover after all. So she does her job. The next day, she reaches out to him, trying to explain why she acted that way.
That’s when the good stuff starts.
Landry and Shiloh were so much fun to read. I love Hargroves books, they always transport me right into the stories and into the characters’ lives. Shi and Landry have to fight for their relationship. Shi loves her job, but Landry is a OTT alphahole who is protective and possessive, this makes their romance a little more complicated than most. Shi is a Boss, she excels at her job, earns the respect of everyone there, and still manages to make time to find love. Their relationship is a give and take, and of course there is a drama that they must overcome. All in all, the book is awesome, and I recommend reading it.
