Review:
Tempted by a Cowboy by Vickie Lewis Thompson is the second book in her Perfect Man series. Tempted by a Cowboy is a cute contemporary romance, that is a fast and relaxing read…perfect for the beach or just a day you want to just lie around and read.
We meet both leads immediately. Astrid, is our heroine, and she is a vet. Astrid has always wanted to be a vet, doing something on her own and something she enjoys. She keeps the fact that her family is extremely wealthy a secret. As we start the story, Astrid is helping the birth of a foal, in the barn of Fletch Grayson, our hero. During the long night, as they await Janis, (named after Janis Joplin) the pregnant horse to deliver, both of them can feel the attraction for each other. Fletch wants Astrid in the worst way, but he knows she will not mixes business with pleasure. Since she is a great vet, who cares personally for her animals, he nor she want to lose this business relationship for a night of passion.
Astrid fights her feelings, determined not to go where her body keeps pushing her to do. On the way home late at night during a rain storm, Astrid’s truck overturns in the deep water over the bridge, and Fletch helps rescue her. Both feeling the relief that they are alive, let themselves fall to the passion they both want to explore.
What follows is a hot sexual romance that goes beyond one night. The both find themselves falling hard for each other. Just when you think nothing will stand in their way for a permanent relationship, Fletch discovers the truth about Astrid, and everything falls apart. But this is romance, and the norm is a happy ending. You need to read the book to see how this happens. This is a cute fast read, with a likeable couple.
