ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 6, 2024
I’ve spent the better part of eight years resisting my best friend’s little sister. What’s one more week? The hardest week ever when it includes a proposition to be her dating coach.
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with the bright, big-hearted Juliet before our lives went in different directions.
Now, I’m the grumpy to her sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover.
And find the house has only one bed.
Located under a mirrored ceiling.
To make matters even harder, the woman I’ve been pining for tells me she wants to try to find the one and would I please be her dating coach for the week?
Like hell I’ll let her date other men. I’ll coach her on three dates with me.
But the second I take her out, I don’t feel like her teacher. I feel like she’s mine, especially when the first night ends with us tangled up together in that bed.
Each night we grow closer, but this dating experiment forces me to face my greatest fear – whether a man like me is worthy of her love.
Even though I’m already head over heels for her.

REVIEW: THE ACCIDENTAL DATING EXPERIMENT is the fourth instalment in Lauren Blakely’s contemporary, adult HOW TO DATE erotic, romance series. This is psychiatrist turned counselor/podcaster Monroe Blackstone, and thirty year old, break-up party planner/ podcaster Juliet’s story line. THE ACCIDENTAL DATING EXPERIMENT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Juliet and Monroe) THE ACCIDENTAL DATING EXPERIMENT follows the friends to lovers/best friend’s sister relationship between our story line couple. Juliet and her brother’s best friend Monroe Blackstone, host a dating podcast often using Juliet’s string of disastrous first dates as a premise for their shows but when their number one fan ‘gifts’ the couple a house in Juliet’s home town of Darling Springs, California, our heroine is hoping to find that someone special, never suspecting, her someone special has been with her all along. Monroe Blackstone offers Juliet his services as a dating coach but jealousy threatens, and Monroe will become all of Juliet’s date, going forward. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Juliet and Monroe, and the potential fall-out as Monroe struggles between head and heart believing he is not capable of love or a happily ever after.
The world building focuses on the friends to lovers relationships as Monroe battles his attraction to the woman with whom he works and is currently at play. Having loved and lost, watching his own family implode, Monroe watches from the sidelines as his friends fall in love but something about Juliet pulls at Monroe’s heart, as their time in Darling Springs comes to a close.
The relationship between Juliet and Monroe is a friends to lovers/best friend’s sister affair but Monroe believes Juliet is off limits. Juliet and Monroe’s attraction to one another is apparent to everyone but the couple themselves, an attraction that gains momentum as time spent together reveals a connection they never suspected. The $ex scenes are provocative and seductive.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including Juliet’s mother, who is jumping into the dating game: and Monroe’s father who if stepping into retirement with a new look at life.
THE ACCIDENTAL DATING EXPERIMENT is a familiar story of family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is endearing and entertaining but one that has been done over and over; the romance passionate; the characters are energetic.
