Kate Preston just moved to New York, but she has to get back to Seattle in time for her best friend’s wedding. Joe Firretti is moving to Seattle, and has to get there in time or risk losing his new job. But fate’s got a sense of humor.
Kate goes from rubbing elbows on a plane with a gorgeous but irritating strange (doggone armrest hog) to sharing one travel disaster after another with him on four wheels. Joe thought he had his future figured out, but sometimes fates has to knock you over the head pretty hard before you see what opportunity is standing in front of you…in a really god-awful poufy bridesmaid dress.

I hope some of you can think of some bad dresses for the bridal party. I can’t at the moment. lol
Oh great give away! 🙂
Worst story … I was maid of honour at a wedding once! Paid close to 400 bucks to have my dress made (off a pattern that I was given) and in the middle of the reception this dress slowly began to unravel at the seams. Needless to say, I went back to the crappy seamstress and got a refund! It was awful!
Rachel 🙂
OMG…what did you do while there? That is like a scene from a movie…it sounds funny, but to actually have it happen…I can’t imagine! LOL
Wow Rachel, that must have been a difficult experience.
Geeez…too many ugly dresses. How about parasols and crinolines in 90degree heat? 😉
OMG…talk about wilted magnolias! LOL
I agreeeee !!!
I stood up in a wedding where the dresses did not arrive until the night before and they were the wrong color. There was nothing we could do but the bride almost called off the wedding because of it.
Holy crap!! Really, I can’t imagine stopping my wedding for a dress…but I guess you could…LOL I love these stories!
This sounds like a really good story, but compared to some of you ladies…IDK..it sounds like yours might be better! LOL
I stood up in the cousin’s wedding and we forgot the rings…*snort*
The mother of the bride, had to leave during the ceremony while the priest stalled and talked about ‘everything’…lol
OMG, that soooo funny, at least now it is – probably wasn’t so funny at the time!
Great post. I went to a wedding when one of the bridesmaid’s dress was ruined. She had to wear a different dress then the others. She looked good, but it did look diffferent.
Sounds cute the story and I’m enjoying all the funny stories. Rachel your story sounds similar to something that happened to a bridesmaid at a wedding I was in.
No scandalous dress stories to share, mine were lovely, but I did show up half an hour late to my own wedding!!! :D. My sister-in-law said the church was empty, so the chauffeur drove my dad and I around Chinatown (Los Angeles) for a spell. Needless to say, my priest was NOT pleased. 2 hour ceremony later…and we just celebrated 14 years! 🙂
My story involves a ruined bouquet on Valentine’s day(with a big twist):
My wedding was a little odd. Due to insurance issues (I have type 1 diabetes & can’t be w/o insurance), we had to move our wedding up a year & I had 3 1/2 weeks to plan a wedding for 150 guests! I knew I was marrying the love of my life, even if the wedding was rushed. But I was NOT giving up on having a nice wedding or “redoing” the wedding later on.
So in less than a month: My cousins & I made the hand made the invitations. My mother sewed 4 simple bridesmaids dresses, my bell-skirted, full-length dress. Our family & friends helped w/ all the details. Then the day before, the flowers arrived HORRIBLE. I spent the afternoon before my wedding searching everywhere for roses to die (color) the theme colors. but the real trick is trying to find Roses on Valentines evening. Yes, I was getting married the day after Valentine’s and needed nice looking roses after the florist ruined my bouquet.
The best part is that we pulled all this off, had a great wedding that is still talked about. And we have been married for 16 years and counting. 😀

Picture bright pink dresses, tons of ruffles and bows, floppy hats and two out of four of the girls in the wedding party more than seven months pregnant. I was one of the non- pregnant girls thank goodness because those dresses were heavy and ugly!!
