REVIEW: WHISPERS N THE SAND is the eighth instalment in Kate Gable’s contemporary, adult DETECTIVE KAITLYN CARR murder/mystery suspense series focusing on LAPD Detective Kaitlyn Carr.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Kaitlyn and Emilia) WHISPERS IN THE SAND follow in the wake of the discovery of a young woman’s body, washed up on the shores of a local beach. With her new partner, Detective Tracie Freeman, Kaitlyn goes in search for clues, including the last know associates of a rising star, a wellness guru who pushes his followers to the brink of starvation. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn and her fiancé, FBI Agent Luke Galvinson make preparations for their upcoming nuptials, an event in which Kaitlyn struggles to get remotely motivated.

WHISPERS IN THE SAND is the story of power and control, indoctrination and madness, betrayal and murder. The premise is fascinating and inviting; the characters are charismatic, desperate and lost-the psychological ramifications of brainwashing and manipulation is evident in the restrictive nature of those desperate enough to believe.
