REVIEW: WILD CARD is the first instalment in Emma Creed’s contemporary, adult RBMC: CODY WYOMING erotic, MC, romance series, a part of the multi-authored RBMC series. This is Nomad bike Wild Card aka Ash Monroe, and twenty-three year old, bartender Ruby Saunders’ story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from three first person perspectives (Ash, Ruby, Hack) WILD CARD follows in the wake of the arrival of Ash ‘Wild Card’ Monroe in the town of Cody Wyoming. A deadly drug is circulating throughout the town of Cody Wyoming, and National Chapter Jameson has sent Wild Card to go undercover in the hopes of tracking down the people responsible. From the outset Wild Card suspects something is wrong, including the possibility of someone on the inside helping with a cover up but our hero never expected to fall in love with the local bartender, Ruby Saunders, the town’s sweetheart, and the fiancé of the mayor’s son. Ruby Saunders thought she was in love with Brett Porter but recent events prove there is no reconciling with the past, and payment for a debt. Falling for Ash Monroe means losing her heart to someone else but when the truth is revealed, secrets and lies are no longer buried in the past.

The world building focuses on several pathways including the possibility of corruption in city hall, trickling down into the RBMC. As Ash continues to search for the people responsible for the drugs, club tech genius Hack, begins an investigation of his own.

The relationship between Ash and Ruby is one of immediate attraction but Ruby is engaged to someone else, and our hero struggles with Ruby’s inability to see beyond the obvious. Ruby is caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place, losing her heart to a man she cannot have. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are numerous and determined including the introduction of several members of the RBMC: Cody: Prez Byron, VP Grizz, Malice, Moby, club treasurer/ tech genius Hack, Taint; Sheriff Underwood; bar owner Earl; Brett Porter-Mayor Preston’s son, and Ruby’s BF Esme Porter. The requisite evil has many faces.

WILD CARD is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, death and destruction, family , brotherhood and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, edgy and entertaining but predictable; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are desperate, dynamic and energetic.
